Bell Crank / Reverse Lever - Accelerator Linkage Mystery
When I first did my tear down long ago, I noted the accelerator bell crank / reverse lever on my 80SC had not only bad bushings, but the lever itself was very corroded and the ball that attaches to the cable end was worn way out of round.
So, before I started buying from Pelican I bought the Porsche replacement bell crank / reverse lever elsewhere: 911.423.017.01 Now, I'm in final assembly prior to reinstalling the engine and here's what I find: the new bell crank - which came in a Porsche OEM bag that is labeled correctly, is missing the pin that attaches to the throttle linkage 'hair pin' that runs to the top of the engine. See the pic: ![]() PET (1980 702-10) does not show a separate component for this headed pin - that is welded or brazed in... Pelican's part listing shows the same drawing as PET that shows this pin as part of the bell crank / reverse lever: ![]() So, anyone have any take on this? Porsche part error - and should have the headed pin? Or - what? Before I order another one I thought it best to see if anyone has bought a new bell crank and what they got... Thanks, Jim

For the records...and in case anyone has need in the future:
Thanks to Pelican's Glenn - who always does above and beyond yeoman's service - we've learned that the current revision bell crank / reverse lever comes as the new one appears above, and that now a threaded pin and locknut are required to complete the assembly. I've ordered 5 pcs of each of these from Germany, and will have available if needed: Threaded Pin 911.423.227.00 Lock Nut: 900.910.096.02 For this ball crank / reverse lever # 911.423.017.01 Cheers, Jim
