Boxster S Wheels for 78 SC RoW

Hello Pelicans,

I looking at a set Boxster S wheels for my 78 SC RoW.

The add states - "I have a set of (4) Porsche Boxster OEM wheels, 17" for sale! These were taken off my Boxster S, and replaced with a new rim set, so they are originals!. They are in great condition with no warping and or road rash. The fronts are factory size: 205/50/17 and rears: 255/40/17. The offset is 6.25" front, and 7" rear".

The wants $600.00

My questions -

Is this a good deal?

Will they fit my Porsche?

Thanks,

Skip

They will fit, but will require spacers and longer wheel studs, or bolt-on adapters to do so. If you do a search on "spacers" you'll find a bunch of information on this topic.

That is not offset, maybe backspace

anyway
I believe that the Boxster S used
7.5x18 ET50 front

9x18 ET52 rear

to use on an SC you will need ~27mm front and ~37mm rear spacers

That's a pretty good price for those wheels but the spacers or adapters will probably cost another $300-$400 for all four hubs just to get the wheels to fit so your looking at sinking a grand (+)into those wheels.

You can get Cup wheels from Tire Rack for $1300 to $1500 with new tires mounted and they will fit w/o spacers. They are aftermarket wheels, Mille Miglia, made in Italy.

The wheel market is one fuched up market!!
