Question Help ME Identify This Part Please

Good Morning:

While removing the non-working AC parts from my new to me '79 SC I found this hose laying on the 'shelf' in the right side of the motor compartment. One end seems to fit nicely on the spigot sticking out where the red arrow is but I cannot seem to locate a logical end-point for the other end (based on the slight bends in the part). Some of the air junk was already removed prior to purchase so... Any ideas would be greatly appreciated...

Eric.. I dont have the same car but from looking at it, appears to be some "unecessary" part. On the last pic you have of the Oil cap. Is there some other connection point on the left side of that photo on some sort of box perhaps???? Bottom left?

Nope... That's where I'm stumped. Used a flashlight and poked-around entire area looking to no avail...

My guess is that it was originally connected to the air intake box inlet. It has a plug in it when I view your picture. Just a guess though.

The purpose of the hose is to either take fuel vapor in or vent vapor to the air intake.

Only environmentally speaking, if it is truly part of the charcoal canister.
