M&K muffler on a 3.2 Carrera

I'm thinking of getting one of Ben's muffler for my 86 3.2. Any one running one of his latest generation 1 in 1 out with a stock cat? I am looking for a little more sound and a weight savings.

Thanks,

Bernie

Here's a youtube of an m&k with cat bypass on a 3.2 (not mine)

YouTube - Porsche 911 With M&K Exhaust & Cat Bypass

Do a search, there is a large "exhaust clip" thread going on now. I am thinking of getting the same muffler, but I have an M&k cat bypass already.

Good luck

Mine is a 1 in 2 out custom that Ben made for me a few years ago....I love it...would not be happy with another brand. He is a great guy to deal with and believes in true customer service. He also makes a fantastic product.

Will it be too quiet with the cat? I had a Tezet muffler on my SC and it was perfect nice low mellow tone slightly louder than stock. I don't want to wake the neighbors but looking for more sound than stock.

Thanks,
Bernie

Arrow It`s going to be like Christmas...

I`m picking up a 2 in / 2 out tomorrow along with SSIs... I got the plugs (internal/external) in case it`s too loud

It`s next winter project. In the mean time one of the SSIs will be the center piece on the main dining room ... until the wife notice

Last summer I got one of Ben's 1 in, 1 out for my 87 ROW. I have the euro pre-muffler as stock, and the M & K sounds very nice. It's not too loud. In fact, there are times I would like it to be louder. I still keep the door open when I first start it up as I just love the sound. I have also received compliments from others on it. I'm sure you'll be very happy with it.

You guys either have very permissive wives, or you're not really married. At least not to women. Allthough, you both keep nice homes

She is real. Red hair with the temper that goes along... She did not really see the humor in this whem I showed her the thread this morning

Well, she got nobody else to blame except herself. I was working hard at the office (clould be hardly working) minding my own business when she send me a kijiji link to a Porsche for sale, the rest is history

Running an M&K 1 in 1 out on a 1988 3.2 for about 8-9 months. Stock cat.
Very, very nice sound. Not too loud - but loud enough to leave a permagrin when tooling about with the windows open.
And definitely loud enough for the Japanese R33 and R34 boys in the neighborhood (I live in Japan) to turn and say, " ah-rey " - which is something of a term of affection.
sings a nice song around about 4.5K +.
quality build. easy to install. great service from Ben by email.
Highly recommended.

Cat bypass here with a 1 in 1 out from Ben, great sound. Can't say enough about his quality and service. You won't regret it.
