on the drivers side, half way up the side of the gearbox is the fill point. Use some rubber hose and let gravity do the work, simply fill until it starts to pour over the edge and close it up.
As for damage, depends on how low and what driving you did...time will tell. I am no expert but I would imaging it may be ok these gearboxes take a beating.
