Power Lock Issue

My driver's door lock started acting up about a month ago and finally failed when I could spin the lock 360 degrees with the key in it. Pulled off the door panel and discovered the arm attached to the end of the lock cylinder had fallen off. Put the arm back on, put the handle back in the door, put the key in the lock and it won't fire the actuator. I took the passenger handle off (doh...more door panels!) and plugged it into the driver's side. It will fire the acutator on the passenger side only. I'm wondering if both handles have to be plugged in to maintain the circuit and if so, does this point to the microswitch in the suspect driver's handle?

Puzzled,
Jeff
