Mystery Washer
I found this washer under my car and can't figure out where it came from. The only thing I've done is a partial engine drop and I removed the pedal cluster when I replaced both the master and slave cylinder for the clutch. Does anyone recognize this? BTW, everything seems to be working fine.

I was clearly made like this from it's appearance, the gap is a cleanly machined section and the center part has been machined as well. I found it about where the shifter connection would be located but the car had moved countless times so it's really hard to say for sure. I don't recall it being part of the pedal cluster when I removed the two bolts from under the car but could it have been related to the protective pan that has to be removed to get to those bolts? I don't recall anything on the shift coupler...
I guess it could have been sitting there for 20 years...it's my wife's old house she inherited so I anything's possible but I think I'd have noticed it at some point.

I think your wife tossed it under there just to freak you out.
It's probably from the sewing machine. |

Maybe I should attach it to the hood. Should I use JB Weld or could someone recommend a more appropriate epoxy? I'll need someone to put together a template so it's aligned properly. I'd hate to be made a fool of the next time we meet at Starbucks.

Oh, Oh, I know this one!
It's the slotted cupped washer that holds the pushrod in the master cylinder bore (pics are from an ATE MC from my BMW 2002). ![]() ![]() ![]()

That's it! The one I found was pretty dirty so it must have come from the old master cylinder I removed and not, hopefully, the new one I just put in. I knew someone on the board would recognize the part!
Thanks a million,
