is it worth dealing with rust?
just wondering if there is any hope in dealing with underbody and rocker rust or is it pretty much a lost cause?

Depends!! Need pix. Anything can be repaired, just depends what you're willing to invest, either in time and/or dollars.

I'm getting my car back Saturday from 4 weeks worth of rust surgery. $5K to replace rockers, sills, door jambs, repair lower front fenders and repair to R/S torsion tube mount and a few little other areas. The work is done first rate but it is not cheap. In alot of cases you need to go in with an open check book because there are alot of hidden and double panels in these cars that cannot be checked until the job is started. Hope this helps put things in perspective. Also everything cost twice what it is worth in So. Cal. so if you live in a "normal" area you should fare alittle better.

Anything can be fixed. But the question is if it is making more sense to fix than to just buy another car or chassis. If you buy, stay away from anything with rust - period.
