Used 3.0 Long Block Value?
Thinking about upgrading to a 3.2. What value would a strong running 3.0 Long Block be? It has oil leaks and needs either rings or valve guides. The compression is about 130.
|
Check recent sales in the classifieds forum, but running 3.0 long blocks go from anywhere between $3K and $6K depending on the condition. Someone looking to make a swap may not be very interested in having to do a top end job to replace the rings and/or guides, but it would be a great candidate for a rebuild or hotrod.

Thanks. That price is just the long block. No intake, exhaust, alternator, etc.

Probably worth more to sell off the pieces. If it needs a rebuild the value goes down a fair bit. But here is some ballpark prices for some stuff that would sell quickly...... (prices may be undervalue to some)
Case 1000 Crank/rods 750 Heads 600 cams 100 oil pump 100 oil cooler 125 cams 75-100 cam towers 150 upper valve covers 25 lower turbo covers 50 rockers/shafts/bolts 75 chain boxes 50 intermediate shaft 50 Piston/cylinders anywhere from 0-300 Just gives you an idea of what some stuff *might* go for. You may get more for some of the stuff too! Cheers |
If it needs rebuilding, $2K-$3K max, for the longblock...

Great Thanks. This will give me an idea so I can decide if I am going to upgrade.
