Oh yeah. That was the guy who made an overdramatic last post calling the 911 a dinosaur and he was abandoning the use of Porsches for dragracing, I believe. Much like the redneck who put a blown chevy V-8 into a Ferrari for drag racing.

Not exactly.

Juan was a nice guy that I truly respected and found interest in, and I don't condone drag racing. I think it mostly came down to the fact that you could dump thousand after thousand into a 911 and it will still have its drag racing drawbacks. That and the fact that he could build a Tiburon drag car that was much faster and more competitive.

Not trying to bust your balls Pleco, just puttin in my 2 cents.

That does not look like Juan Ruiz's car. The tail is different, the blue color is a lot lighter, and I dont think those are FL plates.

That was not Juans car. What is wrong with abandoning a car that is not right for what u are going to be using it for. He didn't abandon it, he still owns it. And yes older 911's are dinosaurs are compared to todays cars, but what other cars from the same time period aren't, except for maybe a 959 and a few very pricey others. The car wasn't what he needed for promotion of his detailing products business, TurboWax. Yes u can virtually make any car beat any other if u have the money but why throw it into a car where u have to be the one who finds out what will break next. It basically seemd to cost 5K a pop when it broke, one of the times we had 2K custom axles made, needless to say they didn't last long. And that wasn't even it, his car is extremely nice, too nice to beat up and cut up as a drag car. The Tiberon has more marketing appeal (yes, hard to believe) and alot more potential as a drag car.

And to stay on topic, that car in the vid hauls ass.

I saw this vid last year at www.rombotistuning.com. I think they removed this video from the site. It moved me, I considered doing business with this shop but logistics was the big issue.

Here is the shop owners info.

I'd like to thank you for that comment! No, really! No but seriously, it's kinda hard to stop from hitting the rev-limiter when you are feathering the throttle in both first and second gear while the wheels are spinning the whole time. The drag radials helped alot though.
And fyi, there's nothing wrong with hitting the rev-limiter, that's what it's there for!
