Will a rear SC flare work on the front fender?
Possibly looking at a Turboesque project and it occurred to me that if the SC flares weren't big enough for the rear, maybe they'd work welded into the front. I guess the question is, are the wheel arches the same size and shape, or close enough? I can finesse the rest.
Frankly, I don't care that much for the real Turbo front fender preferring something slightly less. Maybe this is a path to that end? |

i think tom martenot up here in nor cal used SC flares on the front of his early car. i think he said he just reversed them. sorry, i didnt really listen that closely, i dont get bodywork. but i think the right rear, went on the left front.

This will also help when exiting the track backwards.

For some reason, I thought I remembered seeing such a car on eBay and it looked....er....off.

I just held a SC flare I have up to the front of my car, this is a short wheel base, but I don't think there is any difference in the front fender shape
The top of the arch is a lot flatter , and it is wider at the bottom. Looks 'funny', like someone pushed it in

isn't the edge around the wheel opening a little weird for the front? i.e. - what would possibly match that in the rear?

yeah- the edge is smaller cross section compared to the back- does not match
how about making super SC rear flares with metal sections? now there's some metal work for ya!

I was planning something like this for a backdate of my '82 SC to the ST style body, with the pre '73 fenders up front but keeping the sc flares in the back and having similar ones up front.... They would need some work at the front to match those pre '73 fenders though.
If anyone has any pic's that would help visualize, please post them ![]()
