Power Window adjustment help

Looking for any help on adjusting the upper limit/stop on my passenger side door.

88 cab, power windows.

I have look any many previous threads, read tech articles, bought 101 projects, etc. I cannot located these elusive adjustment screws.

Someone please help!

A picture would be priceless.

Thanks for whatever you can offer....

Mike

I will try and post a picture tonight as I think I have one at home. Essentially, you need to remove the door panel and water barrier plastic.

Half way up the door there is a small opening in the sheet metal, (it might be a slot vs. a hole). Follow the post from the small wing window down, and the opening is just to the left of it.

Inside the opening there is a screw that holds a small fitting/mechanical stop on the window regulator. Loosen, but do not remove the screw, and you should be able to slide it up and down to adjust the mechanical stop. See the schematic in the link below.

Targa vent window doesn't seal - which adjustments are necessary?

Thanks for the timely response

The pics look good for locating. Understand it's the uppermost of the 3 spots labelled #9?

So I just loosen with the window full up, push window down until it looks good, and re-tighten?

Thanks again -

Yes,

Once you have the door panel off, you can see that the regulator hits a mechanical stop. The mechanical stop looks like a small block with a rubber stopper on top. The regulator is a sissor action that lifts the window and pulls it down. The stop blocks the sissor from fully opening or closing.

Loosen the screw and lower/raise the window to the correct position and retighten. Once you are inside the door, you can look inside and find the mechanical stop and match it to the correct screw.

I thought that I had a photo but can not locate it. Also, just migrated to my first apple computer from a pc and am having a slow time figureing out how to do things on the mac.
