Alternator Question

My mechanic just replaced the original alternator on my '77 911. The new alternator is a Valeo, 14v 50Amp with a built-in regulator. Now the gen light stays on all the time. I've added the 91ohm resistor as recommended by Technical Bulletin 1, in the Parts and Technical Reference Catalog, but the light is still shinning bright. Anyone know how to cure this problem??
I can provide more details if needed.

Thanks

i think i'd take it back to "my mechanic." he should be able to determine what's causing the light to stay on, could be something he did or did'nt do. i know this sounds trivial, but it's where i'd personally start.
