Thumbs up R Gruppe infiltrated?

Just noticed the article in the recent issue of Excellence and the fact that 4 of the 8 gruppe photos clearly show short hood cars. Is this a covert operation by owners of mid year cars into R Gruppe or subversion from the editor?

But you knew someone would say that pretty soon, eh?

I could have said that ..but I was enjoying the fact that of 60 or so cars at Sonoma only 3 or 4 were short hoods. I love the fact that the short hood crowd made 50% of the magazine photos.

The "beef cuts" RSR was really something to drive behind, and the black, Gamroth 3.8 RSR awazing as well! The short hoods are holding their own and thriving in R gruppe

Doing well Jeff, thanks. Just got my car up and running again from Sonoma this last weekend. Even washed it finally. David sent me a email about the article, which I had missed some how, so it was fun to see the story and the photos.

Yeah, that's what I meant. The new owner converted my 79SC with 3.6 Vario into an early car

THose aren't really short hood cars. They are actually black Audi station wagons in camouflage.

I though it was a great article. Hoods or no hoods. Nice job of writing and good pictures.

I liked the "Big Block Contingent" comment about the PacWest crew.

I also enjoyed the article on Gib's RSR, another fine R Gruppe car in Excellence. It does help when the editor is a club member
