Aligning G50 Flares

I have some G50 Carrera flares to fit to my 72 911. When trying to line them up I was hoping to use the front and back of the wheel arch because the G50 torsion bar holes are bigger than the 915 ones so carnt use these to line them up. The problem im having is that if I line the front of the arch up with the front of my old arch the back doesnt line up with the back its off by about 5mm and vice versa. Its like the later arches are slightly smaller front to back. So my options are line up the front and have the back out, line up the back and have the front out or centre it between the two. If I try and centre the bigger G50 torsion tube hole with the old 915 holes the front of the wheel arch lines up with the front of my old one with the back been out. I just woundered if anyone has come across the same problem and knows what I should use to line it up.

Thanks Steve
