Turn Signal Malfunction in SC

I'm tooting down the road the other day going to a Porsche dealer, and all of a sudden my turn signal stalk stopped working--no clicking sound and no flashing arrows on moving the stalk up or down.. A few minutes later, everything's working normal again. The mechanic checked it briefly at the dealer, and found nothing.
I'm wondering if somehow the stalk had jammed--and then unjammed itself. Hopefully, it isn't electrical.

Most of my past turn signal problems were relay related...could that be the case here?

I've had to replace this switch twicw in 25 years of owning my 911. Another symptom is the high beam flasher creeps on and off.

When these switches act up, IMO, I'd just rather replace with a new one from our host. Pretty simple DIY project.

Mine used to do that due to grounding issues in the circuit.

Mind did that the other day along with other minor electrical gremlins. Turned out to simply be corrosion around some of the fuses. First I cleaned then simply replaced all the fuses and the difference is unbelievable.

Just came back from a drive this morning, and turn signal was normal--as it was yesterday also.
I think the stalk may have gotten jammed briefly last week--there is some play in it, and you have to turn it without too much pressure at the right angle --parallal to the steering wheel.

After driving this morning, in the garage there were the usual cooldown noises--of hot metal joints cooling, etc. A new one--a faint buzzing somewhere under the front hood, which stopped when I depressed the hood a bit--and went away after a few minutes. Always a new experience with these cars. But a happy 911 owner is one without oil leaks. Dry as a bone.

I was battling this problem for a while, turned out to be the plug and the flasher unit. When I firmly push together they would work when I release they would stop. The solution for me was to use a large hose clamp and tighten down on the unit, problem solved.

I had this same problem. The male connectors on the flasher were intermittently coming out of contact with the female connectors in the rubber plug. Only happened when it was hot - very frustrating.

I fixed this permanently by gently bending the male connectors outward on the flasher so that they made better contact with the female connectors in the plug.
