how much would you guys pay for a tune up?

How much should I be paying (for a decent shop of course) to properly time the ignition and tune my weber carbs? I guess Im trying to find out what I should be paying to have this done.. The car runs decently, just needs to have a proffessional tweak it 100%.

I wouldn't think more than 2 hours labor, tops.....The big cost of a tuneup is adjusting the valves. If they don't need to be done, it's not much time to do the ignition & carbs........

Well lets see, you only have a few, independent Porsche only choices in town here that I know about.

Flatsix
Nurburgring
Autoedge
Johnson Autosport

You could try Leightons and Courtneys as well.

what do you think of GT Cars on 35w and 94th? I took my old XJR there a few times and they do good work, and you always see classics, though they're typically Jags or Ferrari's.

edit: just called GT Cars and I guess they dont really do the old Pcars.

Who would you go with on the above list? Flat6 is very close to me and I just called and he said they could do it (might be 600-800 dollars depending on how much he really needs to do). Ive never been to any of these shops though.

All the shops listed by "85eurocarrera" are listed and, apparently, well thought of in the local club ("NordStern"). While I've never had work done by them, I've talked to people at "Flatsix" and "Johnson" and they seem very knowledgable, especially on the older cars (of course yours, a 1966, is quite early).
