I just put these on my 78SC - so far so good. Have 5 track days on them. Only issue on is strating to show some rust - so I will take off and probably paint. Someone suggestd to me that they may use a chem to clean that takes off some rust protrection. Hopes this helps. Ps I will be doing the rears later this year and will not hesiatate to use them again. $$ are alomot as cheap as rebuulding yourself.

A! Cardone is a remanufacturer of among other things brake calipers - the are located in the Phila area. many of the local auto stores ( Advance Autozone etc0 get there rebuilts from them.
You can not buy directly from them but must go thr a distrbutor. depending on the distributor/retaile the prices can be very very good. FYI - paid $30 for a rebult frt cal for my SC. Thay do want a core in addition to the price.

I've seen them on a lot of vendor's sites. I thought the calipers were aluminum alloy. I have no rust on mine and they are 25 years old. Oh, and I live in the snow belt.

I used to sell A1 calipers, m/c, etc.... in Florida. We had very few complaints or returns with their rebuild stuff, but then there's not really much to a caliper. Really, the only important thing is the seal that goes in the caliper bore that the piston slides into. It's basically a square O-ring. It's pretty hard to screw that stuff up. The calipers are the core charges that someone else has returned and they cleaned. They should be fine, but when you consider the parts that get replaced in a caliper rebuild, it's not a big job to do yourself.
Unless the pistons are bad not likely, this is all that they replace. and this is for 2 calipers. ![]()
