74 2.7 questions

I have a question about a 74 911. I am considering purchasing a car to fix, restore and generally have fun in. This particular car is a 73 911 targa chassis with a 74 2.7 engine.

I know that some of the 2.7 engines have problems with overheating, pulling studs, etc. I also read that the 74 2.7 does not have this problem. Is there any truth to this? I figured that some one out there would have much more experience in this than I. Thanks in advance for all your help.

I know the 74 did not have the exhaust gas recirc. stuff (EGR), which was the major cause of the overheating. The head studs were still a problem with this year as far as I know due to the displacement increase. I had a 77 2.7 that got hot, but never pulled a stud. Although in 77 the bottom 12 studs were Devlar.
