Engine compartment light, where?

Where do you install the engine compartment light?
Can somebody post a picture of this light installed?
Also, the hot wire is always hot or should be switched?
In case of switched, in what circuit (marker lights?) should I connect it?
Thanks
you

Hi!

Maybe this will help. Can't help you with the wiring.

Slodave,
Thanks for the picture.
Probably if you can answer these questions I can figure out how it is connected.
The light can be turned on just by opening the chrome window when:
1.- Markers light on
2.- Nothing on

Thanks again.

The light in my car has not worked for a few years. I don't remember if it was switched or not. My car is also not with me at the moment, so I can't even test the socket for you. Sorry.

Dave

47silver,
thanks, but that is not what I was asking. I know how to connect a light. This particular light fixture has a switch in the assembly, when you open the chrome part the light turns on.
What I need to know is, if the light fixture is connected to an always live circuit or if it is connected to a switched marker light circuit.
