I have a '88 930 that is modded and of course it is pretty darn fast. I am purchasing a rolling turbo chassis and I am thinking about doing this conversion.

I spoke to Scott @ Renegade and he was extremely helpful. However, I want to know what some of you on this thread who have done the conversion think about it. How fast is it, really? From what I am hearing and reading, 500hp in one of these setups is pretty darn fast.

I think of doing a conversion every time I see a turbo tub for sale.

I think you need to find one and drive it before you spend that kind of dough.

Finding one might be a little easier said than done. I just want to build something stoooopid fast that does not look like all the turbo Vettes, Mustangs, GTRs, Vipers, etc. out there...

gas tank

does anyone have instructions to cut down the stock gas tank? i inquired at renegade and scott says that their insurance carrier prohibits them from giving out the instructions.

Fuel tank

Suggest RCI aluminum tank. It gives the hot radiator air larger lower exit space and isolates hot air from fuel tank. EPS - Tucsonhttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1236214399.jpg

Scott and Steve at RH are very helpful. I am doing the LS1 conversion and everything has been pretty straight foward. The adapter plate, fly wheel and clutch are quality work and make bolting up the engine to the tranny a snap.

I plan to post some pictures of my build this weekend so stay tunned :)

Does anyone have a copy of the Renegade kit install instructions? Photos of the parts? Would like to see the parts and understand what all is involved in making the swap before I shell that kind of cash... picked an all aluminum 5.3 (L33) with just 12k miles today!

Please PM me if you can provide them.

They dont really have instuctions. Once you buy a kit they dod give you a password to a web site with some info. Im not mechanically inclined and I really struggled with the install. In hindsight, its not that hard if you have torque specs for things.

e mail me for my phone number. i believe that i can answer most questions regarding the sbc conversion...has to be very similar to ls conversion. maxwedge528@charter.net

sbc conversion is simpler than a ls conversion, no computer wire harness, I have both
