Anyone Installed A Short Shift?

Well my 69 has very worn shifter bushings so I am going to order soem replacements. I am thinking about installing a nice short shift kit as well. Tweeks.com has one for $59.95

I was wondering if anyone has ever installed one of these kits on an earlier 911 or 912? Did it make a noticiable difference? Was it worth it?

Thanks!

I had a Weltmeister short-shift kit in my 1979 911SC. I had transmission problems (bad syncros and some destroyed gears) The shop recommended changing to the factory short shift kit, which is only a few bucks more. The reason is that the Weltmeister and most other after-market kits, shorten the throw too much and put extra strain on the tranny because of the extreme change in the fulcrum. The factory kit shortens the shift pattern but not as much. I am happy with the factory kit and recommend it.
