930 Distributor
On my 3.3 Turbo (930/60) series distributor there are 2 tubes coming out of the vacuum advance is this the correct distributor and if so where do the hoses run too.
Thanks in advance |

Shouldn't that be thanks in Vacuum advance...I'm here all night...
err,ok,it should be one hose for advance one for retard. One goes to a temp sensor that gives vacuum once the engine is warm for emissions, and I believe the other goes to the manifold.

I had the same question recently on my '87 930.
Turns out here is an emissions line diagram in the origonal owners manual that shows the routing of those distributor vacuum lines as dotted lines. There is also a diagram on the underside of the engine lid. The owners manual emissions and distributor vacuum line diagram is easier to look at, and in mine the seperate little image of the throttlebody (with roman numerals for the vacuum line connections) is rotated or upside down in relation to the larger diagram showing the vacuum lines as dotted lines. Kind of confusing, but the red vacuum line goes from top of the throttlebody to a temp switch back near the breather cover. Then from there it goes to the furthest out vacuum connection on the distributor. The other vacuum line which is blue on mine, goes from the bottom left connection on the throttlebody to a solenoid switch under the intercooler, and from there it goes to the other vacuum connection on the distributor. There are 3 vacuum connections on the solenoid switch and one of them is vented to atmosphere. It's difficult for me to describe which ones go where, but it is easy to figure it out from the emissions diagram in the owners manual. Good luck, and hope this helps. |
