Intermittent sputtering and cutting out. ON an 1988 911 3.2.
Intermittent sputtering and cutting out. ON an 1988 911 3.2.
The first sign of this issue came up one week ago for one day. Started my car in the morning after sitting over the weekend, I could tell something was wrong just by the sound. Usually starts right up and RPM’s rev to 1100 then settle to 800 in a minute or so. The car kind of sputtered and cut out dropping the RMP’s to near stall then it would catch again (did not seem like hunting) seamed more like lack of spark or gas. Drove the car to work, no issues the car idled fine. So when the car is warmed up just for a few minutes its fine. This went on all day each time I cold started that day. The next morning problem gone. Now a week later the problem is back. I have checked the ICV, mixture, O2 sensor (cold start should not be a factor). I have a new Head temp sensor. What else should I check? What would cause the car to cut out only when cold? If I give it a touch of gas the car runs fine.
