87-89Hydraulic Clutch Issues

Need info on incidents of repairs / refits of the hydraulic clutch actuator components on the 87 thru 89 Carreras...

Porsche put out a retrofit kit for this issue... was this an official recall, or just fix 'em as they failed?

What are the symptoms of one failing? Does the clutch fail to release?

I am assuming the engine / tranny has to be dropped to do the refit? Since it was Porsche's problem, did they ever pay the bill to have it done, or just "TS", like most refits?

If you had one fixed, how many miles on the car when it happened, and how much to repair?

Could I just find a pair of roller bearings that are very close in spec, and replace just those components?

Appreciate the info!

No official recall to my knowledge, just an improved part. You'll know it if it fails. In my case the clutch pedal made a horrible noise and got stuck about halfway through it's movement.

So I assume Porsche did not pick up the bill? (as usual!)

Thanks for the info... Clutch pedal is getting "sticky"... I may have to investigate further... how many miles on your Carrera when it failed???

Well considering the car was 13 years old, had about 80,000 miles on it, and I was the 3rd or 4th owner, I didn't really expect them to.
