to lower or not
newbie with 78 911 targa have bilstein hd and turbo tie rods done 3 months ago wonderful upgrades just saw pca event at road america wisconsin this past sunday i want to drive the track in spring de event to get ready thought of lowering and torsion bar upgrade in rear to 27mm current front heights 26mm with rears at 26.5 definately room between tires and fenders have local euro shop says can do job or should i travel to more experinced shop hour away? mainly street drivr will ride be too harsh? thanx anything else to do?

78 911's look better around 25 inches high at the fender lips. Keep in mind that the front should be .5 higher that the rear.

After lowering, it would be a good idea to have the car aligned and corner balanced by a reputable shop that understands Porsche's.

Remember, that 25.5F and 25R combination is based on a tire diameter of just over 25". If your tire size is different, you probably want to make an adjustment to suit.

Do the D E with the car as it is oterwise you could be changing for nothing. If you do decide to lower will it effect the travel in the shocks and create problems down the track also use the people who know Porsches' to do the lowering as it can alter suspension settings. Better to pay for the quality and have it done once IMHO.
