Torque for adjustable stock adj spring plates?
Hi there. Cant find a torque number for the nuts that hold the two spring plate halfs together and allow for adjustment on stock adjustable spring plates. Used 65 ft lbs. and the suspension slipped 1/2"
![]() This number may be found in Bentleys. Appreciate the help. Scott S. 73 911 74 914 2.0

The number I have heard people quoting in past threads is 180 ft-lbs.

65 is for one of the alignment bolts. 180 is indeed the more appropriate amount for the big eccentric and sandwich bolt that adjust ride height.

I think a picture will clear things up. The two bigger bolts near the torsion tube are the 180 ft-lb bolts. The smaller bolts are for aligning the rear tires. When you said the suspension sagged 1/2" then I was assuming your height adjustment bolts weren't tight enough. Does your spring plate look like the picture?

Thanks for the quick replies. Really appreciate the efforts. Plates are 78s fitted to 73 for adjustment purposes. I the ride height pretty perfect at 24.75 in back and 25.125 up front. Took it for a test ride and sure felt the rear weight bias. Thought 65 was low. Oh well. Thanks again
