Any Value to a 1973 911t With Sunroof

Hey guys,

I found a 1973 911 T with a sunroof. I wanted a pre smog car to build a turbo coupe which I love the look of. Should I build my dream car or restore this car?? It needs rust repair no matter what I do. It has a rebuilt 2.4 with Zeniths, clean interior and seats and all vins in place with 46K miles (yeah right) but at least that is what the title says. If I made my turbo coupe I think I would need to change this old sunrrof to an after 74 coupe sunroof. Please disregard costs of body work and welding labor. Look at end product and estimate values.
Thank you
Nathan

Sell it..

Then buy an old turbo or SC for your project..

Far cheaper..

good luck

buy the turbo, It is always cheaper and a better car than to make one out of a 911. If you build one out of this car you will have a turbo body wise, and maybe a turbo hung on the engine, but will you put in the big brakes? the turbo transmission? trailing arms? etc. etc. that make the Porsche turbo the fantastic car it is? If not you have a poor facsimile or if you do you will spend way more money buying each piece than if you brought the whole car. I have learned this lesson personally, it took a few cars because I am a hard learner, good luck, Fritz

Agreed...better to keep the longnose (pre 1974) looking like a longnose these days... Also agreed that Turbo tub car would be cheaper.

If you want to start with a tub that will exempt you from smog, get a 74 or 75. They're much cheaper than the long-hood cars. The pre-74 cars are gaining value, but a rusty T as a starter still might not be cost effective to get it into the higher dollar territory.

Buy one that's already done. Cheaper that way.
