Still healthy - but I replaced my Magnaflow with the MK B & B varient - and oh - so much nicer medley. Only a 40% chance of rain today - and no tie so drove the 911 to the office today - man the commute is so much nicer in this car - even if it is hot.

In all honesty, if I didn't have a cabriolet, the Magnaflow would have been fine. It was a little loud, if it wasn't for the wife and kids complaining, it would still be on there.

The MK is a first class product. The UPS guy arrived at 6:00 and by 8:00 it was on. Light, fit like a glove. I just have to something with the cut outs on the sides. Thanks Ben!

At least you have yours close by to drive. Mine is still in NC I am not taking back down until after the Nov. Pelican meet.

I have no idea what exhaust mine has but it drones on the highway at 70 if you do 90 the sound seems to get left behind and its quieter. ;)

charleskieffner 09-15-2006 09:50 AM

very nice...............make that pup breathe!

sammyg2 09-15-2006 01:50 PM

exhaust noise isn't about what the driver hears, it's what about everyone else who has to listen to it hears. you made the right move.

Jeff Alton 09-15-2006 02:35 PM

Cheers

JeremyD 09-15-2006 04:28 PM

Thanks guys - I'll get a sound clip up this weekend. No more buzz - Much quieter above 3000 - which is where I spend 70% of my time.

mb911 09-15-2006 04:45 PM

Jeremy I am glad you like it all the feedback is appreciated. maybe we will make a few more now.

Jeff Alton 09-15-2006 07:36 PM

Ben, can you make one with the tail pipes going straight back ala GT3 instead of under the valance?

Cheers

mb911 09-16-2006 03:41 AM

yeah we sure could! the one jeremy has was intended for not cutting the valance at all.

Jeremy how much did this quiet down what you had before?? 10 dbs? 5 dbs?? just curious.

I trust the slip joint made sense? anyhow I hope you are happy with it

I would have liked the straight back look better too - little bit bigger pipes -

In all honesty - maybe 5 dbs from 1000 to 3000 rpms. Not much at all and I wouldn't hate it if it was just a little quieter. Above 3500 rpms and it really screams (in a nice way) very similiar to the dansk single in/dual out that I had. Again very good quality. it's a nice piece.

randywebb 09-16-2006 11:38 AM

remember, 3 dB = half the noise

5 dB is a LOT

Craig Stevens 09-16-2006 12:22 PM

Jeremy, your car sounded great leaving the cars & coffee this morning, & even better going on the onramp to 275. Craig

How did my secret idea leak out?!! Has Susan Moreland been around here? :D

Jeff, I was planning on having them actually come off the top of the can just as those do off the bottom. That would put them abreast of the license plate, more or less. Need a little wider spread. Oh, and you'd need a back dated bumper, or at least the smaller Euro bumperettes. That or a smaller license plate. :)

I have a smoothe IROC style rear F/G bumper so that may work!! But I may light the car on fire!!

Cheers

Good sounding system. Thanks for the file. I wonder if that Patton fellow could upload it to that sound site collection?

It also looks cool. I wonder how it looks at a higher angle, say standing behind the car 12 feet away?

If I only had the cash right now....

Sorry Milt. It was not your secret idea. I started talking to Ben about a straight exit 1 in 2 out to fit my 87 Carrera back in July. I ordered one that is having some final re-adjustments made to it right now.

I did have it on my car at the GAF on Sunday. I had a few people approach me (one fellow in a nice GT2) that said they thought the sound was "awsome". I can't wait to get it back!

Mike
