Time to Subdivide?

Note that there have been over a million posts to this forum! WOW! Educational, entertaining, enlightening!! Is it time to consider subdividing this forum? I'd suggest the following subdivisions, in addition to general car talk and the others already on the Pelican board:

--power modifications (anything non-stock)
--engine conversions (squeezing a turbo engine into a . . . )
--suspension, handling, brakes
--tires, wheels

That would leave the 911 tech forum for discussions about troubleshooting, tune-up, repair, originality, body, paint, etc.

If you think this is a good idea, chime in with your opinion. Maybe Wayne can subdivide this one humongous forum for easier viewing!

Been discussed before. The overwhelming majority wants to leave it as is.

I vote for putting all the threads on Which tires, which oil, etc. into their own forum.

hmmm...
Leave 'Technical Forum' for technical questions, answers, how to's, how did's, of all types and kinds.

And a seperate 'Non-Technical Technical Forum' for those subjects that seem to marginally on the very periphery deal with technical issues, like: Glamour Car Photos, What's your favorite color, Road trip sagas,
waiving at cayennes, group meets / road trips, Porsche and it's (lost)magic [!], and adfinitum, etc.

I don't think the poster has been here long enough to know what works for Pelicans and what doesn't. Not coming down on the poster, just stating my opinion. He means well, but those that have been around for a while can tell you that things are working fine as is.

Goldrunner, get off your high horse for a second and see that we enjoy ourselves here. We like Porsche content on this main board.

You came down on my thread regarding my drive cross country in a 1970 Porsche, detailing my adventure, including my problems, which is purely Porsche content. If you don't like the thread, then don't read it. It is as easy as that.

Nah, no high horse here...
Only thing I'm obsessive about is labeling things what they really are - must be my 6 sigma training rearing it's ugly head...

I have no problem with this forum being all inclusive of every possible subject. You're absolutely right - it's what the folk's like: practically everything from 'does this match my outfit?' to technical issues I can never hope to fathom. It's all good.

...but...I...can't...fight...my...obsession...coul d...name...this forum...'Technical and Everything Else Too'...or...'Technical Plus Other Stuff'...or...'Technical and Fun Stuff'...
Whew...there...I don't know about you, but I feel better. Thanks!
