targa vent window removal

Anyone know what is involved removing the vent window from the door? The Bentley manual talks only of the coupe window frame and shows some bolts and a bracket. Any help would be appreciated.

I had to remove the "vent window" in order to replace the window lifter channel. Once you get the door panel apart I think you should see how it needs to come out. There were one or two allen head bolts in the inside of the door and on the side of the door that faces towards the front of the car. It wasn't nearly as difficult to remove this window and reinstall is as it was to get the window lifter out and back in again!

Thanks for the tip. Yeah, I have to replace the lifter channel on the glass and need the space to remove and reinstall the window. Quite a pain and I hate working with glass as well.

BTDT hope never to do again.... I managed to get the lifter channel out without removing the quarter window, but I had to remove it in order to get everything back in.

There are several threads on different tricks to make the job "easier".
I wondered to myself after the job if it was possible to leave all the window parts in the door and just take out the glass...but I'm not sure if this would actually work as it takes a fair amount of force to get the glass to seat properly in the lifter track/channel.

Sounds like we have gone through identical processes. However, I DID put the lifter in and then coaxed the glass into the seal, but not deep enough and now I think it is gradually lifting out, hence the vent window removal and moving to the "correct" method. Dang I wish it were easier.
