911-993
Well, after a hot day in Southern California (100F+) I decided that the Targa had to go and that A/C was critical with my next car. I suppose I could've gone with the elaborate A/C upgrade for the 88 911 but I sold it instead and bought a 993.
(I was also tired of my buddys making Miami Vice jokes.) ![]() ![]() ![]()

Gorgeous rig! Like the palm tree reflected in the hood.

Wow. Both cars are nice, but the 993 is stunning.

To tie in to a previous thread, Porsche sure hasn't lost the "magic" on that one!

Both 911's are stuning!
Congrats on the 993. Did you sell the Carrera to another pelican or trade it in on the 993? On a side note, it looks like the rubber gasket for your hood crest on the 993 was not put on correctly. The sides of the gasket should be flush with the crest. You can probably pull them from underneath the crest with a small flathead out and around the crest. Enjoy your new ride, Matt

Hey, what's wrong with Miami Vice, it worked for Jamie Foxx

The 993 was purchased locally, from an obsessive guy who had every scrap of paper and receipt on the car since the day it was picked up from the dealer. That helped in my decision. (Although I guess he wasn't obsessive enough to keep the crest straight. Thanks for pointing that out.)

Yeah Jamie Foxx is one thing. I'm talking Sonny Crockett 80's Miami Vice here. Here's another obscure reference, it was sometimes referred to as the "Dirk Digler" car.
