Fun Lunch...

After backdating my exhaust and a few other odds and ends, I noticed that the oil lines that feed the tencioners and cams were leaking at the rubber to steel junctions.

I decided to get the rubber bits replaced during my lunch hour today at the local hydraulic hose shop so I brought a 12mm, 14mm, and 17mm wrench with me.

I went to Green Line ffirst and pulled off the right side oil line. The guy there was too dumb to do the job for me (and I didn't want to convince him he could do it...) even though this location built the oil lines for another vehicle in the past. I put the line back on the engine and left.

I went down the street to the competition where they were more than willing to do the job for me. I got the guy to take a look before I pulled the line off this time. I puilled off the line, he took it apart and discovered that they didn't have 5/16" high temp hose. They managed to crimp on some 3/8" hose over the ferals and did a really nice job. I got them to fix up both sides which required me to pull the distributor.

When I put it together, I got the dist back in retarded by 1 tooth. I tried to drive away like this but ended up pulling over, yanking out the dist one more time and reindexing it. The car runs great now - I just need to clean up the oily mess I made on the engine. I got back to work 30 minutes late.
