what's the best combination headers/muffler?
Hi,
I am working on the 3.2 enging for my 1970s RS rep. and need advice on what's the best set of header/muffler. A friend has the original headers from the 3.0RSR (I am pretty sure, it's real, he got the engine and it came with it.) Should I copy a set of it, or find a newer design since the RSR is now has 23 years old technology? What about these mufflers, MK, Dansk or original factory? Any other good mufflers, please recommend. Thank you Burint ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

My understanding is that the SSI's are equal length and you get the HE part for heat and the MFI hose, if you have MFI on that 3.2 (not lilely, eh?). Anyway, they should offer sim ilar performance to the RSR headers and you don't have to make anything. AFA a muffler, Ben makes a fine product and it's a LOT lighter than anything else I've seen. I think at this point he has a lot of technology in the less than 20 lbs. So, you should get the free flow you need with some back pressure to help the overall performance. I say overall, not all out racing.
A good all around set up. Of course, there are many, many mufflers, headers and theories abounding. This is just one idea. |
