95 cab top lock motor problem
My '95 cab passenger side lock motor is still turning after the top is up and the driver side lock motor stops. The gauge cluster has the top warning light on. If I push up on the top on the passenger side when the top is "locked" it does move up while the driver side is locked. When I play with the lock mechanism on the passenger side I can move the cams while I can't on the driver side. These motors were replaced about 2 years ago by Porsche as a recall item.
My question is can I fix this problem or do I have to buy a new motor? ![]() |

Sounds like a replacement is in order. You can typically pick those up for ~$100 on Ebay. They are easy to remove and replace. I've done mine twice, no big deal.

That clicking sound is the stripped out worm gear in the latch. Both mine are bad.
I already removed all the power top pieces and I'm going to get some roller latches from a late Targa to convert it to manual.
