Fan Housing quick question

Quick question 3.2 engine fan and alternator to fan housing.
Secured with 3 studs. Is it also a press fit? I am thinking this is just stuck from corrosion swelling the housing.
Thanks.

Aloha, Rob

After removing the 3 nuts on the back of the housing that hold the alternator in, the alternator should come out. It is a slip fit, but if it was a little tight to start with, the corrosion between it and the housing will make it difficult to remove. REmove the OTHER 3 nuts and remove the air guide from the back of the housing, then -- carefully -- use a rubber hammer to break the corrosion and remove the alternator. You can't just pound away with the hammer -- pick your spots wisely.

Okay thanks that's what I thought. Alt took a crap on me. Pounding does'nt budge it. Will take to work and press it out. Hopefully without damaging the alt.

Aloha, Rob.

I use a rubber mallet and pond the crap out of it if it has not been taken out in a while. If I am taking the alternator out of the housing then the alternator needs to be worked on anyway.

But hey thats just me.....and it works for me with out damaging the alternator....
