Question Seattle Area Body Repair & Paint?

Greetings All,

I'm the proud new owner of an 87 Carrera - my first Porsche. The car is in very good shape; never crashed, but it has sustained some annoying "hangar rash" during its tenure in various garages. I'd like to bring it back to near-new appearance.

I took it to a body shop I have experience with (Thoroughbred Collision Center) and they quoted me over $2800 which seems exorbitant for 4 small dings. Another shop quoted $350, but I'm leery of his paint-matching abilities.

Does anyone out there have any suggestions? Quality is my main concern, but I don't want to give any more money away than I need to.

Thanks!

Give John Walker (John Walker's Workshop) a call on Monday. I'm sure he'll know the best P-car body and paint shops in the area.

I had decent results for a fair price at Queen City in Redmond. I've also heard good things about Eurotech in Kirkland.

Klassic Auto Refinishing in Bellevue...Ken Keifer. Excellent work and very fair pricing. They're in the Evans Industrial Park near Chris' German Auto.

I've used Degrazia's on Lake City - excellent and expensive...He gets exotics in there and Tom is a Porsche guy..

For hole in the wall I've used Harold's in Renton on Rainier too. They've done match work on my car and it's always spot on.

As mentioned,

Queen City in Redmond (talk to Dave) and Eurotech in Kirkland. Also check with Marv Engstrom @ Magic Customs in Lynnwood (probably one of the best paint guys in the state, and Porsche-friendly).

I've had excellent results with Aldercrest Auto Rebuild up in Lynnwood on 196th, right next door to the Old Spagetti Factory.

$800 to media blast and repaint my front bumper, front apron and right rockerpanel (I did the R&R). Paintless dent removal on the right door, fix dents in right rear quarterpanel and repaint (blend) the door and rear fender in silver metallic. Perfect job... talk to Nick 425-775-2424

BTW: I'm in Kenmore

Any suggestions south of Seattle? I am looking to have the front hood redone due to bra damage.

Garage
Not really south of Seattle, but easy to get to from Tacoma.
Modern Collision rebuild on Bainbridge. Great family owned shop. They do alot of Hot Rods and Full Rebuilds of classic cars as well as insurance work.
