What does it take to enter a 'serious' race?
I am just dreaming but what are the requirements to enter a car in Sebring or Daytona etc.? Not for the driver, but for the car. Is this within the realm of the hobbist or is it just for the rich and famous? Thanks!

To quote Henny Youngman, "Practice my boy, Practice." (How do I get to Carnegie Hall?)
I hope you're just asking how you get your car onto those higher speed tracks. Different groups (PCA, SCCA, etc.) rent or lease the tracks for their events (Driver Training). Those clubs have insurance, and safety rules. Roll bars are often required for certain events. ------------------ '83 SC |

Cubic Dollars.. The GT3r is probably upwards of $150K.. another 20 or so for race prep.truck, spares, etc..
Have a freind trying to get into Trans Am.. budget 2 mil.. Renting a car may be an option.. Transam cars are renting for $35-$40K/race.. but this includes crew/tires/etc |
