Vacuum problem?
I hope you all can help. Here's what has gone down. I sent my car in for a routine service at which my mechanic adjusted the tappets and checked the rest over. They decided to fill up the oil and I collected the car. On the way home all hell broke loose. First the oil pressure went way up as did the heat. I parked the car amidst clouds of smoke. The next morning the mechanic was in my garage and discovered that the oil breather hose was blocked and after clearing it everything seemed back to normal. However he asked that I return the car to him to check the mixtures etc.
When I came to collect the car I took it straight back after 100m as the oil pressure was now far too low and the car was idling high after revving and slowly returning to the normal idle speed. It sounded awful. Needless to say much head scratching later I have now collected the car again. Still seems to be hanging onto it rev speed and now it cuts out every so often. Our best bet is the vacuum circuit. THe sad things is that the car was running really well before I decided it needed to be tuned up!
