Idle question

81 SC that runs just perfect, but now that it's getting a little cooler I notice that when she is warm and I come to a stop the idle does not kick down to where it should be. Uusally at 900 to 1000. Now she is close to 2k. I know how to adjust but wonder what the cause is.
Thanks in advance.

That is too high. Is that all of the time during this cooler weather?
I actually tried NOT adjusting my misture this fall. The car ran just fine. I suspect it was a bit too rich all along. I'll just leave it alone for now.

As I said, all summer just fine. When the cooler weather arrives I usually turn her down. Idle screw. I didn't touch it this year and really don't want to. There are times that if I blip the gas she will fall slowly. I dont want to play with the mixture as I think I am good. But I just might be a little rich.
