check engine light

Several times over the last week or so my "check engine light" came on. I checked the code and it appears to be the Knocksensor II fault. A couplo' questions, should i be concerned with this fault?, where on the engine is the knocksensorII?, what might cause it to come on rather randomly? any feedback would be welcomed. 1991 C2 Dave

Knock is not good, not knowing exactly what this does but guessing if it detects a knock it may adjust the timing to compensate. This probably should get imediate attention.

According to the service manual it says it does in fact retard the timing 6 deg. however i don't feel a change in performance. it would seem that 6 deg would be enough to feel?
