Jeff, what type of exhaust system? Looks like a B & B dual exhaust. Is this a cat back system or did you a complete header system minus the cat? You did say you dropped $15K, right?

mark-
the avs sports are awesome, grip like hell...

89911-
you are right, it's the complete B&B tri-flo system, headers, heat exch., 4"tips, and i added the dual side you see on the right....and the cat converter, was, umh, left off...:-) i had to replace the rear shocks just last week, the originals were soft and causing some rubbing on the left rear, the new turbo sports fixed that, the right rear axel busted loose, the week before, thank god i was on a side street, and not on the interstate that i had just pulled off of, could of caused some real damage.

What do you do about inspection in TX. In PA there are certain areas where you can lose a cat, (less than 5000 miles a year, classic car registration, etc.) It gets back to that money factor, (does'nt everything!) I've been told that the best bang for the buck with 3.2's is to improve the exhaust. Did you notice much? Are you also looking at 993's? 285 HP can't be all that bad. Michael.

michael-
texas has very tough inspection laws, but mine passed, they don't actually look under the car, it's too low anyway. ;-) you are right about exhaust and performance...when i added mine, it changed the way it sounds obviously, but i also noticed some much improved low and high end muscle....it also reduced the rear weight of the car by almost 70lbs. another critical add-on with the exhaust package was performance software/chip, i was told to get an authority brand, this and the exhaust system make a huge differance.

Can you give me a rundown of what it cost? I already have a Borla single cat back which I guess I'll sell, (hello Ebay). How is the sound? Certain track functions restrict the noise. Have you ever dyno tested? I already have an Autothority chip and have notice a slight gain in high band HP.

i bought mine from winward, they ordered it directly from B&B and B&B drop-shiped it to my wrench, speak with dan at winward. i called B&B direct first to get a quote, then called several other places, winward was cheapest by about four bills i think....the total cost plus shipping was around $2,100 ($2,500 from B&B). that was for the complete s.s. system, and the dual four inch tip ($150)....i had a few choices in sound, but decided to go with intermediate only after i was able to hear a set at the track on a 3.2, but with only a single four inch outlet. duals to me make more sense, and the rear valance modification was very simple. the two choices in pitch were sport and intermediate, the sport would have been way too loud for the streets. the inter should be fine at any of your pca events....i think mine sounds awesome now, the car turned heads before, but now they turn their heads and crack their windows just to sneak a listen...if you want to hear it sometime, call me on my cell phone, and i'll take it out to the garage...e-mail me for the number. one last thing, my wife was not really on-board with the new exhaust sound, in-fact, she even covered her ears at first, but she has gotten used to it. chow!
