Smile new forum member

Greetings everyone, while I've been a Pelican customer for some time, I have been in the shadows as far as the forums go. It is time for me to come forth and first say Thanks to the regulars here because I have successfully completed many projects on my car due to the in-depth info presented here. As for me, I'm just a car nut, and Porsches are my personal love. I've had my 87 for about 3 years now and never tire of the things I experience with it every time I drive it, work on it or just look it! I hope to be able to add something to this forum in the future, so for now, Thanks again....Dan

Exactly which silver is that? I'm contemplating silver as a repaint color some day. Your comment about driving, working on and looking at is right on! The '87 is sure a great car.

Good catch der Mond! It's a repaint by the PO. I have not been able to ID it yet. It is definitley not an 87-89 factory silver. If you look close you'll see the wheels are painted the same color. (I'm going to replace them with "correct" anodized 7s & 9s after I wear out my current tires). Anyway, a member of my family has a body shop and he can have it analyzed for the formula, so then I'll have the option of the same color, or a factory color. But it will remain "traditional" silver.

Well there's been quite a few, not counting going over it top to bottom detailing it the first winter I got it! OK; with the help of 101 Projects book I've done; turbo tie rods, cv boot replacement, Valve adjustment (already had the Turbo valve covers) Bilstein HDs all around, S.S. brake lines, cross drilled rotors, rebuilt the front calipers and repaired my speedometer gear. On my own I repaired my windshield washer switch contact, polished and painted my rear brake light lenses, installed a B-K extinguisher mount and a black Prototipo wheel with the Porsche horn button! (I found the button on e-bay thanks to a thread here!). And from this site, I fixed my headlight switch (came on after cancelling a turn signal). Wow! Sounds like a lot of work (loved every minute of it)
