Problem starting my porsche

I have an 1982 porsche sc, at times it starts beutifully and other times it takes a while to start up i dont get it, I have changed the following:
-spark plugs
-spark plug wires (braided)
-distributor cap/rotor
-fuel filter
-new car battery
I still have not done the timing and belt tightening, can that be the problem? Or should I be checking other thing on why it isnt starting.

A tech can put guages on it. Is it a hot start problem? You know, if you have driven it and park it and it wont start if it was turn off say twenty minutes prior. If so, it has to go to someone who has experience. Even experienced techs can work for hours fixing this.

Good luck. Keep us informed.

even if it sits for 20 min or even 2 hours it might start up beutifully but sometimes its doesnt start as easy. sometimes i can leave it for days and it will be fine other times it wont.

Porsche Crest

I had the same issue, turned out to be the starter motor (in my case).
