Cimate controls wire

Hello,
I am installing the correct climate controls for my '86 Carrera. I'm not exactly sure where the white wire is to be inserted after it goes through the hole in the firewall. Can anyone give me a detailed description where and how this wire is inserted for the air conditioning control.

It is the temp sensor for the evaporator in the smugglers box. Be careful with it because it is a capillary tube. it should have a copper shroud around it and it goes in between the finns in the evap.

Sorry I do not have a pic. Mthomas58 had a picture on his A/C install thread IIRC.

Here is a picture showing where the white wire (capillary tube) gets inserted in the evaporator box - just to the left of the bronze bracket lower center of pic - look for the small red box outlining the insertion point.

Mark,
It looks like I have a different a/c set up in my 911 as you can see in this picture. I also have a silver box with fins in it up in the top left corner. I can't seem to find where the capillary tube is inserted in mine. Also, does the capillary tube simply get fished in between the fins that are located at the firewall leading to the smuggler's box? Any input would be appreciated.

Scott, I don't recognize that set up. You might try sending a PM to Jim Sims or Kuehl (Charlie Griffiths) who are probably familiar with the evaporator box you have.
