Turbo guys: Which tail is better looking?
Need some feedback here fellas!
Which tail would better suit a pre-89 turbo bodied car? This one: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1160014932.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1160014954.jpg OR this one: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1160014982.jpg Taking into consideration I'll be going with a full C2T bumper kit in the future, which tail would better suit? Opinions please ;) |
Sorry, double posted the first pic! Here's the other profiles:

factory turbo tail without doubt
|
I like the black lip on the tail personally but I don't have a tail at all on my car.
|
BTW, those aren't factory turbo tails... they are DP/Kremer extended style 930 tails, to house larger intercoolers.
The white one is a RS3.8Turbo style DP tail, whereas the black one is a lower profile DP style tail, with the rubber surround (like the factory 930 tail). |

OR......my favorite......Ducktail......makes the rear flares look even bigger.....

Id have to say the RS wing if your going with C2 style bumpers. Also maybe consider the front spoiler in C/F with the splitter that has the side wings.

Option B

B
Looks closer to stock, and doesn't look like something you might see on the back of a honda, etc. Just my opinion. -Matt |
I'd go for the RS3.8/DP one.
Looks more up to date. |
I am not a fan of the Kremer/DP big tails like the one in your picture. I realize they had the big box under them for plumbing and intercoolers but it makes me think Chris Bangle worked for them when he as a kid...... :) They just do not look right on the street without the rest of the 80's package.
Cheers |
if it'll look anything like gumba's, i'd choose that one---his car is sick!!
|
Yes, Gumba's car does look SICK indeed
I'm just thinking ahead, because I'm definately updating to the later C2T bumpers in the future and I think the RS3.8 DP Tail would probbaly suit that look better, but then again, here's a C2T bodied car with the a tail like Gumba's, but the tail has been fully color coded to the rest of the duco (i.e: no HEAVY rubber surround). It also means, no white'ish wax marks along the edging of the rubber surround ;) http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1160030158.jpg |
It shure looks better than the original with rubber surround... but I still like the RS3.8 one better.

I like the DP style, I just added this tail with factory rubber to hold a huge Protomotive intercooler that should be arriving soon, I’m working on a Rennspeed 930S front valance to go with it.

Anyways
I have turbo tail on my car, one thing I will say is get a factory turbo tail or one from a company that has a great strong product. When I got my car, the tail was perfect, now that I been driving around, I am seeing stress cracks from this inferior fiberglass model... |
Sorry, I should have been more descriptive in my original post. I already have a factory 930 turbo tail on my car. I need the DP/kremer style tail to accommodate a massive full-bay Protomotive Twin Turbo Intercooler.
Here are the pics of the intercooler. The inlet tank on the intercooler pretty much comes up just before the rear reflector, so my only option is a DP/Kremer style tail. I agree, those tails do look too aggressive for the street, but it's my only option I think. Perhaps another option is to go with a 993TT style tail, however, that would look crap on a pre-89 bodied car  |
I think you should go with the DP/Kremer tail.
