The TWEEKS.com show is this Sat/Sun in Effingham, IL. Should be a huge event. Anyone out there (in the area) going?

I lost track of time this summer and have too many other things this weekend. I hope they do it again, Effingham is only a few hours away. Please report on the cool stuff I missed out on.

You missed a great show! I would never believe there are so many Porsches in the Midwest. Just guessing, I would say more than 500 different cars showed up in the 2 days of the event. I took some pictures and will post a couple of good ones. The bad boys of ImagineAuto.com brought a couple of ultra high HP tubos to show their goodies. Many tech session - I attended as many as I could. One outfit did a Targa to Cab conversion live! (There was someone a while back that wanted to do this. If you read this I have pictures.) It took them 3 hours. One highlight was a 908(?) racecar with an F8 engine that did a few laps and a burnout for everyone. It was 100 miles each way for me and I went both days. Quality time spent with the P car.

Yes, it was a great event.

After a year of ownership I still feel a bit conspicuous drving a red 911. However, not after this show. Red Porsches were given their own special parking. The sight of 70 Guards Red cars all lined up was outstanding.

Wow, you guys could have asked the local Troopers to give you all a ticket then and there, and you could have avoided any on the way home ;-) ;-).

Andras - we were going for the "schooling effect" hoping the police would freak out and not know which one to stop! Ha!

David - I'm almost afraid to ask you which car was yours. This may have been the only time where these red cars all blended together making it hard to distinguish individuals! There were some beauties there.
