Help indentify this switch function on my '73
What is the switch on the dash between the cigarette lighter and the rear window defroster? It is a single position, has a picture of a light and is connected to my low beam circuit. It does not appear to work, so I am curious what it is for?
Thanks, Matt

Ay one time, your car must have had through the horn grill mounted factory fog lights...

Matt,
Sounds to me like the switch for fog lights. If your car does not have them, check to see if there is a wire leading from the switch and ending somewhere under the front bumper. Larry

Thanks, my car has the brackets behind the horn grills, so I considered fog lights, but when I hook 12v to the wiring attached to the switch, the low beams come on...

the switch gets power from the low beam circuit. fogs only work on low beam, from the factory anyway.

Sounds like you have all you need but the lights...and the cut down grilles.

Ahh, that make sense! I believe I remember seeing the wiring behind the horn grill, now ALL I need is the lights... so much for the easy part!
Thanks for the help, Matt

Take a close look at pwd72s' picture. You'll also need the special horn grills. They have special openings for the light and bracket to fit through.

Seems like it would be easy to get another set of grills and cut them, but where would I find the lights in an affordable line?
