Question Torsion Bar

Can someone give me a quick lesson on an adjustable torsion bar?

I just bought a beautiful 1995 C2 with 17,500 original miles--it was a lucky find. The original owner had Gemballa do some work (throttle, exhaust, chip, springs), including the addition of an adjustable torsion bar under the hood. I am getting more than my money's worth from the other aftermarket additions, but I'd like to know more about the torsion bar.

Thanks.

john.

umm.. I don't think 95 has torsion bars. It has shock/strut and springs. Someone please correct me if I am wrong.

Yeah, somewhere there's a huge misunderstanding. Torsion bars in earlier cars are the "springs" and can be adjusted to lower or raise the ride height of the car. I think Jack may be on to something that it's an anti-roll bar which functions similarly to a torsion bar.

Unhappy Torsion Bar MISTAKE

Thanks for the replies--my 18 year old nephew confirmed my stupidity. It's a strutbrace under my hood (obviously not a torsion bar) and it's manually adjustable. I have no idea how it's set or if it's set correctly.

Thanks again for the help. Any additional info is appreciated.
