Product for Treating Targa Seals?

My car's PO had the Targa top completely redone. It is beautiful. However, when I go over big bumps there are squeaks from the seals where the top meets the car. Should I treat these seals with silicone? Talcum powder? Vaseline? I have looked in the archives and haven't found anything. Thanks.

This why no one wants to race a Targa - they just flex a lot!

[This why no one wants to race a Targa - they just flex a lot!]
Did you see the article in Excellence about the old Targa named Marcel? I raced in a few AX's in the Bay Area when I lived there, and the owners claimed the chassis flex helped keep the tires planted and helped their AX times. They were FAST.

Don't rub it in--I would rather have a coupe, but this was the right car with the right history for the right price (1980 SC). And it is nice to take out the top on a nice day...

Check to see if the 4 plastic plugs are in place. They are located on the targa bar and flank the wholes where the rear pins enter. If one or all of them are missing or broken the top will squeak.

I use a product called Gummi-Pflege. It keeps the rubberized parts supple and prevents cracking.
